The Coalition for Peace Action joined forces with the United Nations Association of Greater Philadelphia to co-host an engaging program to commemorate the horrors of the only time nuclear weapons have been used against human beings at the Philadelphia Ethical Society on Sunday, August 10, 2025.
This year marks 80 years since the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki — acts that reshaped history. As nuclear arsenals persist, we gathered to remember and mobilize against further expansion of nuclear arsenals. Attendees heard from peace workers, the global community and about how they can join the movement to eliminate nuclear weapons.

The event also featured music from two Peace Ambassadors (shown below), winners in the Junior Peace and Music Ambassador Program: Cyrano Rosentrater, First Prize winner in the strings category and Alejandro Wu-Mula, First Prize winner in the piano category.
